Feast of the Immaculate Conception

Catholics around the world celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception today, December 8, 9 months before the nativity of Mary which is celebrated on September 8. As defined in the Catholic Doctrine, "Mary was preserved exempt from all stain (macula) of original sin at the first moment of her animation, and sanctifying grace was given to her before sin could have taken effect in her soul."

Students of Colegio de Santa Ana celebrated the mass in honor of the Immaculate Conception yesterday, December 7, at the CDSA Gymnasium presided by School Director Rev. Fr. Amando Litana.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of Obligation. CDSA celebrated the mass yesterday because there are no classes today, as Taguig City is also celebrating its cityhood on this day.
