National Teachers' Month 2018 (Sept. 5 - Oct. 5)

September is a month-long celebration in honor of our dear teachers: the National Teachers' Month, officially started September 5 and culminates on October 5, which is the National (and the World) Teachers' Day. The celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242 for the National Teachers' Month, and Republic Act No. 10743 for the National Teachers' Day (October 5 designated as World Teachers' Day by the UNESCO in 1994). The national celebration is carried out in cooperation with the National Teachers Day Coordinating Council (NTDCC) and the National Teachers Month Coordinating Council (NTMCC).

The celebration aims to:

1. honor those who are in the teaching profession;

2. acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service, and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally-minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening communities, and building the nation;

c. revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society;

d. take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession;

e. generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and

f. express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.

Have you thanked your teacher/s today? 

PRAYER FOR TEACHERS

Giver of all Wisdom and Greatest of all Teachers,

look upon our teachers with love.

Grant them the resolve to nurture our eager minds

and to never give up on us who fall behind.

Bless their hearts for they rejoice when we succeed

and encourage us when we fail.

Endow them with gentle patience

for the path of learning is never easy.

Kindle a spirit of passion in them.

It is the flame that ignites the love of learning in us.

Help them to see the potential in each student.

Their belief in us means much more than the grade we make.

Instill in them a commitment to keep on learning.

It shows us to not fear new knowledge and experiences.

Inspire them to touch the future.

They influence how big a dream we dream for ourselves.

Bless our teachers who have come before

for their work endures to this day.

Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2018: Filipino - Wika ng Saliksik

Ipinagdiriwang tuwing buwan ng Agosto ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Bilang 1041 ng Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos taong 1991. Ngayong taon, sa pangunguna ng Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino, ang pagdiriwang ay may temang Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik.  Ang tema ay kumikilala sa wikang Filipino bilang midyum sa paglikha at pagpapalaganap ng pambansang karunungan at kaunlaran. Sa pamamagitan ng tema, layon ng KWF na palaganapin ang wikang Filipino sa iba’t ibang larangan ng karunungan, lalo na sa agham at matematika. ¹

Ayon sa DepEd, hinihikayat ang lahat na makilahok sa mga gawaing may kaugnayan sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa bilang pagpapahalaga sa ating wika. ²

Bilang pakikiisa sa layuning ito ay ginanap noong ika-31 ng Agosto sa Colegio de Santa Ana ang Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa sa pangunguna ng Panitik Club. Ang mga mag-aaral at guro ay nagsipag-gayak ng kasuotang Filipiniana. May kani-kaniyang programa at patimpalak ang bawat pangkat-baitang: Pagsasalaysay ng Maikling Kuwento (Kinder), Sayawit (Grade 1-3),  Tagisan ng Talino (Grade 4-6) at Sabayang Pagbigkas para sa Junior High School. Ang Senior High School naman ay nagkaroon ng pagsasaayos ng mga silid-aralan ayon sa probinsyang itinakda para sa kanilang seksyon.

DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE (OPENING OF CLASSES - JUNE 8, 2015)

God is good! All the time! Jesus Christ! My Lord and My God! Holy Spirit! My Advocate and Helper! Dearest Parents, Teachers, non-teaching personnel, pupils and students, Good morning! In behalf of Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara, DD, our BOT Chair and Fr. Orlindo Ordoña, our PaDSS Superintendent, I warmly welcome each one of you. Thank you for choosing Colegio De Santa Ana as your school. This is your second home and all teachers and non-teaching personnel are your second parents. We are all here for you. For the old students, welcome and let us show our new pupils/students that we care for each other. Let us give them a warm applause.




Let me share with you my Principle and Philosophy of Education. The first is this: "I believe in the uniqueness of every individual person." The key word is uniqueness. This means more than being rare... As Philippine Eagle is rare because there are fewer than 250 in the wild. Uniqueness means there is only one in the entire world... Sa Filipino pa, "walang kaparis kahit pumunta ka pa sa Paris". Just look at the person on your right and on your left, tingnan nyo ang kanyang mukha... ang kanyang buhok... ang kanyang noo.. ang kanyang mata... ang kanyang ilong... ang kanyang bibig... Iisa lang ang taong iyan, wala ng pwedeng pumalit diyan... Sabi nga, "Each person is God's masterpiece that He will never repeat again."

What are the implications of this principle?

1. Because you are unique, therefore you are valuable. You are more valuable than all the wealth in the world. You are valuable than all the technologies in the world. Be proud of your uniqueness!

2. Do not compare yourself with others. Comparison often leads to feeling of superiority or inferiority, both are not good feelings. Rather, discover your uniqueness and be proud that you are different.

3. Discover your talents and work on them. Some talents are inherited from parents; some are cultivated and learned. Be proud of your talents.

4. Make your own life project and never copy from others. You will not be judged by the life project of others. You will be judged according to your life project. Be proud of your own life project.

5. Value the uniqueness of others. They are potential friends, potential teachers, and potential allies. Be proud of the people around you.

6. Practice the elevator principle: bring people up instead of bringing people down (john Maxwell)... Practice the art of affirmation... Express your support and encouragement. A simple can light a person's heart. A simple greeting can inspire a person to greet in return. A simple tap on the shoulder can mean so much to a person in need of encouragement. A simple text message can save a life of a person on the verge of despair. Be proud that you are able to affirm others!

7. Remember always, you are unique and so every person around you. Respect them and love them and you will not be lacking in friends!

An Open Letter to the CDSA Community

Dear CDSA Community:

Warmest greetings from your new school director!

Let me introduce myself. I am Rev. Fr. Orlando B. Cantillon. You can call me Fr. Orly for short. I was born in Valenzuela City. I am the eldest among six siblings of four brothers and two sisters. I was ordained priest in 1986 and this year is my twenty eight year of serving as a priest.



Let me share with you some of my principles and philosophy of education:

   1. I believe in the uniqueness of every individual person.
   2. I believe in the dignity of each human being.
   3. I believe that every child has a tremendous potential.
   4. I believe that education is to draw out the best in every person.
   5. I believe that the role of a teacher is to facilitate learning.
   6. I believe that all personnel of the school are teacher of values.
   7. I believe that CDSA is an acre of God's Grace.
   8. I believe that we: parents, teachers, non-teaching personnel, pupils and students form a community of learning and teaching.
   9. I believe that God has a beautiful plan for our school.
  10. I believe that all of us are loved by God unconditionally.

Let us pray for each other. Let us pray for the realization of our dreams. Let us pray always for nothing is impossible with God.
