Google Classroom Orientation

For those who want a refresher on Google Classroom and Google Workspace, here is our old Orientation Video for AY 2020-2021. 

The changes from the video last year are:

1. G Suite is now called Google Workspace.

2. Your Workspace Account is personalized and uses the domain @cdsa.edu.ph (not @cdsa.org.ph). 

3. You still have plenty of cloud storage* via Google Drive. Google Mail is now functional and you may use your CDSA Workspace Account to send and receive email.

4. Your Workspace Account is active for as long as you are enrolled in CDSA. 

5. CDSA's Blog is www.taguigcdsa.blogspot.com. CDSA's website is www.cdsa.edu.ph.

6. onlinesupport@cdsa.edu.ph is no longer active. Please message your child's adviser or subject teacher for technical support.

How to Unenroll your previous Classes/Subjects

You can use your CDSA Workspace Accounts for as long as you are a student of CDSA. As such, each year, you may need to unenroll your subjects of the previous year (unless your teacher has unenrolled you first). Here are the steps on how to unenroll your previous year's classes/subjects.

G Suite is now Google Workspace!

 G Suite is now called Google Workspace, after numerous improvements to the service which were contributed by users worldwide. Many organizations used G Suite for their online collaborations and activites, and they gave Google the valuable feedbacks and suggestions for improving the service.

CDSA also underwent significant changes with its Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals account. This includes the change of domain to @cdsa.edu.ph. Also, students' accounts are now personalized. They still have access to unlimited cloud storage via Google Drive, and now they can use their Workspace account to send and receive email via Google Mail (GMail).

Here at CDSA, you can be sure that we are abreast with the current trends in IT!

Google Meet - Join a Google Meet conference using a Meeting Link

There are instances wherein your teacher may send you a Google Meet link on your class GC. A Google Meet Meeting Link may be used outside of the G Suite for Education organization, but participants are required to have at least a GMail Account for them to be able to join.

Here's how to join a Google Meet video conference using that link.

Google Meet - Join a Google Meet conference for Synchronous Online Consultations

Google Meet is part of the G Suite Apps collection. It is used for video conferencing. With your G Suite Account, your teacher can meet with you and your classmates for online discussions and consultations.

One way to join a Google Meet conference is by using a Google Meet code or nickname. Another way to join a Google Meet conference is through a shared link. Your teacher may share a Google Meet link in your class' GC, especially if your teacher hasn't created a Class yet on Google Classroom, or if the teacher opted not to use Google Classroom at all. 

Third way of joining a Google Meet conference is through a link in your Class banner. If your teacher has an active Class in Google Classroom, Google Meet is fully integrated with it. Follow these steps to join a Google Meet meeting using your G Suite Account on Google Classroom.

Google Meet - Join a Google Meet conference using a Meet Code or Nickname

Google Meet is Google's video conferencing app. It is part of G Suite for Education and every CDSA Student will be given an account to be used for online learning. 

Google Meet is integrated with Google Classroom. A link is provided for every Class. However, you can join a Google Meet meeting using a code or Meeting Nickname.

If your teacher has given you a Google Meet Nickname, follow these steps to join a Google Meet meeting:

Google Classroom - Sign in on a Mobile Device

You can use your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) to access Google Classroom and G Suite apps. First, you need to download the following:

- Google Classroom

- Google Drive

- Google Meet

- Google Docs, Spreadsheets and Slides

These can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS devices, and Play Store for Android devices.

Then, follow these steps:

G Suite Account - Trouble logging in to Classroom or its associated apps? Check your browser's current account.

Your computer at home may be used by your parents or siblings. They may have a current login of their personal GMail account, which is actually what we call a Personal Google Account.

It is always good practice to check who's account is currently signed in on your computer's Internet browser. Check out if a Personal Google Account is logged in to your browser by doing this simple step:

A Simple Celebration for a Special Servant: Sr. Leonila's 35th Anniversary in the Religious Profession

This year, as the Catholic Church in the Philippines celebrates the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons, Colegio de Santa Ana gave a surprise for the Head of Center for Christian Formation, Sr. Leonila B. Guerra, fma, in celebration of her 35th Anniversary in the Religious Profession. She had her First Profession on March 25, 1983. 

Part one of the celebration was a simple blessing after the First Friday Mass (Sept. 7) followed by giving of flowers. Part two, held on September 10, was a simple gathering with special messages from Sir Gener Espino and Mrs. Lennie A. Montevirgen, a song number led by Mr. Robbie Gatpayat, Mr. Bernard Nasayao, and Ms. Clarence Jongaya with the whole CDSA community, giving of gifts, and a video presentation while food is distributed. 

Sr. Leonila is a member of the congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice) or the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco. She joined Colegio de Santa Ana in 2016.

Your CDSA family loves you Sr. Leonila! May God bless you with more years to serve Him and His people.

Taunang ginaganap sa Diyosesis ng Pasig ang "Walk for Peace With Mary" tuwing buwan ng Setyembre, buwan ng kapanganakan ng Mahal na Birheng Maria. Layunin ng taunang pagtitipon na ito ang pagbuklurin ang mga laykong-lingkod at mananampalataya sa mga parokyang nasa ilalim ng Diyosesis ng Pasig, pagpupugay at debosyon sa Mahal na Birhen sa pamamagitan ng pag-aalay lakad, at pag-aalay ng panalangin para sa kapayapaan. Ngayong taong ito, ginanap ang Walk for Peace sa mismong araw ng kapanganakan ni Maria, ika-8 ng Setyembre. Nagtipon-tipon ang mga delegasyon ng bawat parokya at mga paaralan sa Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish sa Bicutan. Matapos ang isang misa sa pangunguna ni Rev. Fr. Orlando B. Cantillon, naglakad ang mga dumalo papuntang Sto. Niño Parish sa Signal Village, Taguig City.

Iba't ibang tampok na gawain ang nilahukan ng mga dumalo. Sumali ang mga mag-aaral ng Colegio de Santa Ana sa on-the-spot poster-making contest na may temang "Si Maria: Huwaran ng Kaparian at mga Kinonsagrang Mga Tao" kung saan sila ay nag-uwi ng Ikatlong Gantimpala. Ang mga kabataang nagbigay karangalan sa ating paaralan at parokya ay sina Ingrid Villareal, Kayla Oruga, Nica Mariden Topinio, Alyssa Faye Loquias, at Lorelai Petalver. Naging gabay nila ang mga gurong sina Sir Jimmy Uy at Sir Joven Manaloto. 

Nawa ang ating mga mag-aaral ay gawing halimbawa ang pagiging masunurin ng ating Mahal na Ina at gawin siyang inspirasyon sa kanilang pang araw-araw na mga gawain. Ikinalulugod namin ang inyong tagumpay!

National Teachers' Month 2018 (Sept. 5 - Oct. 5)

September is a month-long celebration in honor of our dear teachers: the National Teachers' Month, officially started September 5 and culminates on October 5, which is the National (and the World) Teachers' Day. The celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242 for the National Teachers' Month, and Republic Act No. 10743 for the National Teachers' Day (October 5 designated as World Teachers' Day by the UNESCO in 1994). The national celebration is carried out in cooperation with the National Teachers Day Coordinating Council (NTDCC) and the National Teachers Month Coordinating Council (NTMCC).

The celebration aims to:

1. honor those who are in the teaching profession;

2. acknowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service, and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally-minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening communities, and building the nation;

c. revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society;

d. take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession;

e. generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and

f. express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.

Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa 2018: Filipino - Wika ng Saliksik

Ipinagdiriwang tuwing buwan ng Agosto ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Bilang 1041 ng Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos taong 1991. Ngayong taon, sa pangunguna ng Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino, ang pagdiriwang ay may temang Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik.  Ang tema ay kumikilala sa wikang Filipino bilang midyum sa paglikha at pagpapalaganap ng pambansang karunungan at kaunlaran. Sa pamamagitan ng tema, layon ng KWF na palaganapin ang wikang Filipino sa iba’t ibang larangan ng karunungan, lalo na sa agham at matematika. ¹

Ayon sa DepEd, hinihikayat ang lahat na makilahok sa mga gawaing may kaugnayan sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa bilang pagpapahalaga sa ating wika. ²

Bilang pakikiisa sa layuning ito ay ginanap noong ika-31 ng Agosto sa Colegio de Santa Ana ang Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa sa pangunguna ng Panitik Club. Ang mga mag-aaral at guro ay nagsipag-gayak ng kasuotang Filipiniana. May kani-kaniyang programa at patimpalak ang bawat pangkat-baitang: Pagsasalaysay ng Maikling Kuwento (Kinder), Sayawit (Grade 1-3),  Tagisan ng Talino (Grade 4-6) at Sabayang Pagbigkas para sa Junior High School. Ang Senior High School naman ay nagkaroon ng pagsasaayos ng mga silid-aralan ayon sa probinsyang itinakda para sa kanilang seksyon.

DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE (OPENING OF CLASSES - JUNE 8, 2015)

God is good! All the time! Jesus Christ! My Lord and My God! Holy Spirit! My Advocate and Helper! Dearest Parents, Teachers, non-teaching personnel, pupils and students, Good morning! In behalf of Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara, DD, our BOT Chair and Fr. Orlindo Ordoña, our PaDSS Superintendent, I warmly welcome each one of you. Thank you for choosing Colegio De Santa Ana as your school. This is your second home and all teachers and non-teaching personnel are your second parents. We are all here for you. For the old students, welcome and let us show our new pupils/students that we care for each other. Let us give them a warm applause.




Let me share with you my Principle and Philosophy of Education. The first is this: "I believe in the uniqueness of every individual person." The key word is uniqueness. This means more than being rare... As Philippine Eagle is rare because there are fewer than 250 in the wild. Uniqueness means there is only one in the entire world... Sa Filipino pa, "walang kaparis kahit pumunta ka pa sa Paris". Just look at the person on your right and on your left, tingnan nyo ang kanyang mukha... ang kanyang buhok... ang kanyang noo.. ang kanyang mata... ang kanyang ilong... ang kanyang bibig... Iisa lang ang taong iyan, wala ng pwedeng pumalit diyan... Sabi nga, "Each person is God's masterpiece that He will never repeat again."

What are the implications of this principle?

1. Because you are unique, therefore you are valuable. You are more valuable than all the wealth in the world. You are valuable than all the technologies in the world. Be proud of your uniqueness!

2. Do not compare yourself with others. Comparison often leads to feeling of superiority or inferiority, both are not good feelings. Rather, discover your uniqueness and be proud that you are different.

3. Discover your talents and work on them. Some talents are inherited from parents; some are cultivated and learned. Be proud of your talents.

4. Make your own life project and never copy from others. You will not be judged by the life project of others. You will be judged according to your life project. Be proud of your own life project.

5. Value the uniqueness of others. They are potential friends, potential teachers, and potential allies. Be proud of the people around you.

6. Practice the elevator principle: bring people up instead of bringing people down (john Maxwell)... Practice the art of affirmation... Express your support and encouragement. A simple can light a person's heart. A simple greeting can inspire a person to greet in return. A simple tap on the shoulder can mean so much to a person in need of encouragement. A simple text message can save a life of a person on the verge of despair. Be proud that you are able to affirm others!

7. Remember always, you are unique and so every person around you. Respect them and love them and you will not be lacking in friends!

Dear CDSA Community:

Warmest greetings from your new school director!

Let me introduce myself. I am Rev. Fr. Orlando B. Cantillon. You can call me Fr. Orly for short. I was born in Valenzuela City. I am the eldest among six siblings of four brothers and two sisters. I was ordained priest in 1986 and this year is my twenty eight year of serving as a priest.



Let me share with you some of my principles and philosophy of education:

   1. I believe in the uniqueness of every individual person.
   2. I believe in the dignity of each human being.
   3. I believe that every child has a tremendous potential.
   4. I believe that education is to draw out the best in every person.
   5. I believe that the role of a teacher is to facilitate learning.
   6. I believe that all personnel of the school are teacher of values.
   7. I believe that CDSA is an acre of God's Grace.
   8. I believe that we: parents, teachers, non-teaching personnel, pupils and students form a community of learning and teaching.
   9. I believe that God has a beautiful plan for our school.
  10. I believe that all of us are loved by God unconditionally.

Let us pray for each other. Let us pray for the realization of our dreams. Let us pray always for nothing is impossible with God.
